Time Flies: Part I

Whew...Time to catch up on things here.

Well, the last true blog entry was just around the beginning of what would be a month long of running around, doing this, that and the other thing and maybe watching a movie with Jon here and there.

My Russian Easter came and went and, like most family gatherings I've had, it was a very enjoyable time. Although, I almost couldn't afford to make it down to Philly, back to Jersey and then back home to Brooklyn due to financial reasons thanks to the bridal shower and bachelorette party the week before. Both times were wonderful (as you may or may not already know) but boy, did they put a dent in my wallet. Anyway, Easter was great...the food was amazing this year, the kids were a joy to see and I almost ate a whole spoonful of homemade horseradish for $20...I told you I was broke. Now keep in mind, I've never liked horseradish and have never even tried the one made at Easter and I was about to shove a HUGE spoonful in my mouth...I'm an idiot. But it got a nice laugh at least. My family has also discovered a new game called "Tap-A-Tune" thanks to my Uncle Russ. I'm sure the hilarity of the game wasn't due to the alcohol still running through my family's bodies and the fact that it was about 6am at this point, could it??? Maybe...maybe not...either way it was hysterical. The next day the kids had the annual egg hunt and got a bag full of candy which they didn't need...but it's Easter. Jon and I came back Sunday night and were wiped out. Our bed couldn't have looked better. Bed time was around 10pm that night and for a 20's something couple who enjoys watching the latest Netfilx movie, that's early....but needed.

As for the couple of weeks following the completion of Russian Easter, not much happened. I went on a few auditions but not many. It didn't seem like there were a lot going on or seemed worthwhile. I had the reading at the Dramatist Guild of America. That was also an enjoyable night out. I even went out with some classmates of mine which was great. I got to know some of them better and one of them, Tyler, and I (at least I feel) really hit it off. The more we (and his partner Doug who stopped by later on the evening) talked, the more I realized how much we had in common and how similar our minds thought. It was refreshing to find someone like Tyler who I felt comfortable around and a connection with. It's not everyday in the world of acting that you find someone who is grounded and has a sense of sanity about things.

My friends and I, after auditions, have gotten into the habit of not only going out for lunch after auditions but going to this AMAZING (and there really is no other word for it) place for frozen yogurt. Now it's not your typical yogurt with preservatives and fillers...this is actual plain (or green tea or the swirl if you wish) yogurt with any topping you'd like (fresh fruit, granola, etc.). It's called Red Mango and it's on 8th Ave. between (I believe) 46th and 47th St. Jackie and I found it by chance one day when we were doing some errands and stopped in to cool off and have a refreshing treat. We didn't know what we were in for and couldn't stop saying, "Oh my god this is sooo goood" for about 20 minutes (and every time thereafter we go in). It may be pricey for some but let me tell you, not only is it actually good for you, it tastes unbelievably good. You MUST try this place out otherwise you're missing out big time.

I will end my Part I of II here...although not much was to be said. The next one will be up shortly and will be filling you in on my best friend's wedding that was last weekend (May 17th) and what any other worthwhile news.

Until then............
