This was an educational tour I did for the 2006-2007 school year. Winceyco was (and still is) a great company that brings educational programs to schools all throughout New Jersey and New York. I went all the way up to Jersey City down to Atlantic City to bring children (ranging from kindergarten to seniors in high school) issues that they have or will face in their lives. It was also a way to bring theatre to children who may never see another live event again. I was very proud to have worked with such a great group of people who enjoyed not only the art and craft of live theatre, but to bring some hope into childrens' lives.
This particular show dealt with 2 children- one who was being bullied and one who was the bully. I was the single mother who was concerned for her daughter who was being bullied and her son was one of the bullies at school. Needless to say, she had a lot on her plate. It was such a great feeling after shows to have kids come up to us and say "Thank you so much. You really helped me out. I was being bullied."
