School or Company:
Winceyco
Role:

Show Director:
Rodney Gilbert
Show Details:

This was another show I filled in for someone. It was during Black History Month that this particular show was being performed. It shared the story of 3 African-Americans who "used their heads" to become free slaves. The characters portrayed in this show were actual people which, at least to me, makes their stories all the more powerful and hopeful.

I was glad to be a part of this show since it was to an audience of children who were being shown that if you use your head, no matter what or who you are, you are able to succeed and do whatever you want in life. You have to set your eye on the goal and go for it. Let no one stand in your way. Let no obstacles slow you down. Let the hard times be lessons you learn but never look away from what it is you want.
